Hayden Panettiere just dropped a book. And she is not holding back.
In her new memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning the actress opens up about two encounters with famous men that went entirely off the rails. Neither interaction was flattering. Neither was particularly safe. But both left an impression.
The Fly Accident That Wasn’t
Picture this. You’re 19 years old. At a party. You want to go home.
Panettiere says she felt uncomfortable chatting with a group of guys so she started her exit. Putting on her coat. Ready to leave. Then a man approaches her.
He was an Oscar-winning actor and director. Well-respected. A giant in the industry.
He pointed down at his crotch. Claimed there was gum stuck to his pants.
“I looked down and recoiled.”
It wasn’t gum. It was his testicles. His fly was unzipped. They were just… hanging there.
She wrote that the stunt hadn’t technically hurt her. She assumed it was a drunken joke. A stupid prank by a grown man she didn’t know well. But the shock? Real. The confusion? Total. She’d never seen anyone pull something like that in her life.
The Yacht Cabin Situation
Things get weirder in her second story. This one involves a cabin. A luxury yacht. And a famous British singer-songwriter.
Panettiere says a sketchy friend brought her there. The guy in bed was shirtless. Propped up on pillows. Arms behind his head. Sheets covering him from the waist down. But the outline? Very clear.
Her friend pulls the sheet off the guy. Turns to Hayden. Delivers the line:
“I want you to getin bed with him. He has a big dick.”
Pause.
The shock was so massive it didn’t even cross her mind to say no at first. Silence fills the room. The power dynamic is completely warped.
But she stopped it. Right there.
She made arrangements to leave. She got off the yacht. She got away from the situation before it went any further.
Why No Names?
So who are these guys?
You might think the internet would be hunting down those names within hours of the excerpt dropping. Not a chance.
Panettiere isn’t naming names.
The Hollywood Reporter got a straightforward answer. Things happened a long time ago. Sure. But she isn’t taking the risk. Protecting herself. Protecting her company from lawsuits filed by “very pissed-off famous people” isn’t worth it for this specific revelation.
It leaves a lot hanging. Who is the director with the loose fly? Who is the singer in the cabin? We guess. We wonder. We probably won’t know for sure unless one of them confesses or someone slips up in the future.
And maybe that’s better this way. Or maybe not. 🤷♀️
